Why I Started Our Dang Life
Thank you for visiting my website Our Dang Life. My name is Tuyethoa Dang and my name translates to Snowflower. That is translating my name from Vietnamese to English. My website's name came to my very easily because of my last name and the life I have gone through with my daughter, Scarlett. I hope you continue to follow us. I am continuously updating my website when new items come in or when I make new products. Since Covid-19, I started making homemade facemasks to help the public. In addition, I want to eventually sell all my homemade crafts. I started this site not only to sell my homemade crafts, but to also to start a blog about our Dang life. It will include all the adventures, memories we have created with my daughter, Scarlett and will create. She is my world, my everything, my mini me and most of all my hero.
I started off with face masks because my daughter is immunocompromised. For those who do not understand that term "immunocompromised", it is a broad term, which means that the immune system is weaker than expected and not functioning properly. The immune system is made up of an army of different types of cells all working to protect you against bacteria, viruses, and other things that might cause infection.
My daughter spent pretty much the first year of her life all in the hospital fighting for her life. She had surgeries, so many infections, so many life threatening moments and so many times I wasn't sure she wasn't going to make it. I don't want another family to be in the shoes I had to be in with my daughter. Please protect your family by getting educated on what to do during this pandemic. She has probably gone through more than what most adults have gone through in their life time already. My daughter has bronchopulmonary dysplasia due to being born at 24 weeks and 5 days. In addition, she had heart surgery at the age of 5 months old but in reality her corrected age was under 2 months old. Well more will be written about this in the future in another blog.

What I Want to Share to the World

I want to share to the world everything about our Dang life together. I want to share all the good, the difficult, the life threatening, the happy, joyous, the adventures, just all the times in Our Dang Life through my eyes on how life has changed for me. My daughter, Scarlett, has taught me so much about perseverance, control, strength, pain, love, and so much more that you could never understand in just one lifetime.
Having a child that that started off learning to be able to talk, eat, stand up and just run like any other kid was an experience with Scarlett. She started off slow because she was delayed due to being born early; in addition, she had to have a ventilator connected to her at all times including her feeding machine too. One day, she lost most of her physical abilities, lost her voice, lost so so much that I thought I almost lost her.
Since then, Scarlett has regained more than any doctor has expected. All of the loss though was due to brain damage she had before she turned 3 years old. Scarlett still can't run like she did before nor can she verbally talk. With my blog, I want to be able to share with the world all our adventures on how different places are handicap friendly or just not. I want to share all of our experiences doing everything every child should be able to get to experience. I want to show parents the different products we use at home and on how we incorporate it with therapy and school. I have had to adapt and learn so much after having Scarlett.
In addition, with my website I want to be able to share all my crafts that I enjoy. They will eventually include the following:
-From my sewing projects(handicap friendly dresses/gowns for babies/kids, costumes, skirts, -shirts with ironed on vinyl, gtube buddies, fabric trache ties, fabric trache covers);
-wood burning/ etching(from family pictures, any image you would like and even 3d carving);
-engraving(on anything you like from a phone case, pendant, keychain, even a tablet to almost anything you would like);
-photography(sharing my scenic pictures, anything that catches my eye, Photoshoots for immunocompromised families, affordable newborn photoshoots, and eventually I want to take boudoir pictures); and
-so many other crafts.
I hope I will be able upload videos on how to make these crafts, not only sell them because I want to be able to share all the joy and peace I feel when making these crafts. I hope that everybody that comes to our website will subscribe and continue to follow our family through Our Dang Life.
